Product Promotion: Between Marketing and Quality

So I just got the spirit to start writing again.

I think this is one hobby that will go to waste if I don’t continue it.

Rater than letting things that happened just passed by, it’ll be better to keep the memories in this blog!

Last Thursday, 17 October, there was “Yamanashi’s Tourism Business Meeting” at Mandarin Hotel, held by Yamanashi Prefectural Government. This meeting brought together Yamanashi Prefefecture’s Tourism business people and some of Jakarta’s Tour & Travel Agent representatives. The purpose was of course to introduce and promote Yamanashi’s tourist attractions to those Travel Agent representatives, so they would make a Yamanashi travel package for Indonesian tourists who go to Japan.

I was in this meeting as an interpreter. Yup, my job as a marketing staff in one of private companies in Jakarta allows me to do part time jobs now and then… as long as it doesn’t take too long, lol.

My first impression for this event was: “too cool!” Yamanashi Government is so driven to develop its tourism business, that they came a long way to foreign countries, held presentations in luxury hotels, invited many travel agents and not forget to hire many interpreters so their businessmen can freely boast about Yamanashi’s beauty and charm in their own language.

Do Indonesian Government also have this kind of event?
